Yesterday evening had been really nice. I had enjoyed the time with Xavier and this calm was pleasant. There was no hustle and bustle around us and it was just him and me. It was like a short vacation after all the madness. We badly needed that.

In the morning, Xavier had a few calls to make and I didn't blame him. His job took up a lot of time and I could understand it.

For me it was the perfect opportunity to bring my family up to date. Actually, I should have done this earlier.

I was sitting on our bed with my phone in my hand. First thing I would do is call my mum. Otherwise she would certainly be angry, which I could understand.

I dialed her number and waited for her to answer. I had a grin on my face, which of course was real. I couldn't wait to tell her about it.

I let it ring until voicemail came. Good, she didn't answer. I had to postpone our conversation to another time. With a sigh, I hung up and checked my phone book.
