"Are we very sure that we're not digging our own graves thinking we're digging someone else's?" Benjamin wondered out loud to Ethan, who was the member he was closest with.
"We can never know for sure whose grave we're digging Benjamin and that is why we have to make sure that we do everything possible to make certain that our grave isn't what we are digging and that our objective ends up as a success. As scary and as risky as it is, if we really want to have our way, we need to be prepared for the absolute worst," Ethan responded calmly as himself and Benjamin waited for the rest of the council members to arrive to their meeting place.
For Benjamin, Ethan's words were his own way of reassuring himself that he wasn't making a mistake by going along with their plan. He had become a member of the council at a much younger a
Amelia woke up with beads of sweat formed on her forehead. She kept panting heavily and was struggling hard to get back to her regular breathing pace. She looked around her bedroom not exactly sure what she was looking for but when she confirmed that there was no one else in the room besides herself, she let out a sigh of relief. She didn't remember exactly what had instilled this fear in her but for some reason, she couldn't help but be conscious about everything around her. Thankfully, she wasn't one to sleep in a dark room so she was able to see every corner of the room clearly and because of this she was a lot more confident about the fact that there was nobody in lurking in her room and that she was just waking up from a really terrible lie to me that happened to seem very real.
"Where's Ryan, Adrian?" Amelia asked as soon as she walked into Adrian's office. She didn't even bother to greet or anything like that since her only objective now was to get an answer from Adrian. She had earlier visited Ryan's bedroom and to her surprise, the room was actually locked and when she tried calling out for Ryan, she didn't get any response at all. At first, she thought that it wasn't anything too serious and that maybe he was in the basement room where he most definitely wouldn't hear her but then again, she recalled what she had heard the previous night and something told her that she had to question Adrian because something wasn't right."Excuse me?" Adrian responded with a confused look on his face. He most definitely didn't understand why she had suddenly barged in here with that look on her face a
Amelia followed Camille from behind and although she had no idea where Camille was leading her, she still followed anyway. They finally arrived at an hallway that was very unfamiliar to Amelia and she knew that she had to ask questions now so she doesn't end up in any kind of crazy situation. For all she knew, Camille could be leading her to her death and she most definitely wasn't ready to die."May I ask where you're leading me? I'm not very familiar with this side of the place and I can't keep following you if you don't tell me where it is I'm headed," Amelia said as she halted in her tracks."Worry not Amelia, I don't intend to harm you in any way. The reason you're unfamiliar with this side of the place is because it is my territory and you haven't been invi
"Put myself out there? How am I supposed to do that?" Amelia asked."The people still don't know they have a Luna, Amelia. I'm sure they've heard rumours but to them, nothing is confirmed and the council members are playing on the fact that you haven't been announced yet. They're going to get their minions to spread false rumours about you and by the time you decide to announce yourself, the people will already have an image of you created in their heads and it's going to work against you heavily," Camille explained."So what you're telling me to do right now is to announce to the people that I'm Luna? Is that it?" Amelia asked, visibly confused. She wasn't too sure if she could do that without Ryan's permission and since he wasn't exactly avail
Amelia sat on her bed with several thoughts running through her mind. She had just woken up from another one of her nightmares and just like the one she had the other night, this nightmare was also quite gruesome. Also, unlike previous dreams where she would see Ryan in scary situations, she saw herself instead and in this nightmare, she was actually getting stoned to death. Most of her dreams were always very realistic, almost as if it was happening to her in reality and this one also felt as though it happened to her in real life and that was the reason why she just sat on the bed and started to think about everything that happened throughout the entire day. Before she went to bed earlier, she had spent most of her evening thinking back to the conversation that she had with Camille earlier in the day and realised just h
Isabel was taking her usual evening stroll and she tried as best as she could to avoid going to places where she knew that she could run into anybody familiar that wasn't a guard or a servant. To be precise, she was actually trying to avoid running into Adrian just like she had been doing successfully for almost two weeks now. She did not want to have anything to do with him or have any kind of confrontation or conversation with him because she has come to realise that every kind of conversation they had always led to a confrontation and she did not think she had the energy to deal with it anymore. Her weird relationship with Adrian was something that she still could not understand properly and she had already established the fact that she had a weird attraction to him but she also had this anger and dislike t
"I can explain," Isabel blurted out quickly."Explain what exactly? That you were eavesdropping on my conversation? What else is there to explain?" Adrian questioned with a questioning look on his face. The last time he saw Isabel this up close was about two weeks ago which was when they had their messy argument. It didn't even occur to him until today that he hadn't seen her in quite a while and he also did not remember why they had even argued the last time they saw each other because of how busy he had been seen then with other things. He knew that they didn't get along very often and as far as he knew, Isabel was always picking a fight with him over the most ridiculous things."I know it seems like I was eavesdropping and all but that wasn't exact
"Are you nervous?" Isabel asked as she noticed Amelia rubbing her sweaty palms together."I'm not exactly nervous per say, it's more like, I'm hoping that I'm making the right decision with this," Amelia replied, still rubbing her palms together. She had thought about everything thoroughly and had made up her mind that Camille had a point and that she really needed to put herself out there but now that she was just about to walk in and express her thoughts to Adrian, she was doubting whether or not she was making the right choice. She still remember what Ryan and Adrian had told her when she first got and it was about her needing to keep a low profile for her safety and for Isabel's safety as well but Camille had advised her to do the exact opposite b
