Chapter 128 Scars

The rest of the week went by without any word from home, but when we were getting ready to leave Japan, we heard that another pack was destroyed while we were gone. Jess had gone off pack grounds to meet up with an old military friend to help her with the SIM card. So far nothing had been discovered, but they were still working on it.  

It was dark when the plane touched down in Asheville and the car ride was quiet and peaceful on the way back. I must have drifted off when Samantha pulled me closer to her, brushing my mark gently. When the car crossed the border I shot awake, a sharp sensation coursing through my veins. Glancing up at my mate’s amused face from her lap I slowly and reluctantly sat up and rubbed my eyes. “Does it always feel like that?”  

“Yeah, its letting you know you are home. That same sensation will also help you figure out other pack’s boundaries
