Chapter 63 Farewell

Breakfast was somber, it seemed even the other pack members were quieter than normal. Penny was openly crying, a start contrast to how she was yesterday. Nick didn’t leave our sides all night, we woke up and he had slipped into our room overnight. We found him on top of the bed with us, tears running down his cheeks in his sleep.

I could feel Samantha’s sadness again, I gripped her hand under our table and squeezed it reassuringly. She gave me a sad smile and nodded. “Hey Nick, we bought you a present.” She said as she handed him a small box. “Ben and I thought you would want it.”

I looked on approvingly as he opened it, the new cell phone we bought him staring up at him. He looked at it in awe. “We all added our contacts on there.” I added as he turned it on. “Call us anytime.” He nodded.

“All of us got together and loaded a bunch of pictures too.”
