Chapter Twenty-nine

Bernard paced up and down his office. He felt like he was climbing the walls as he thought about the phone call he’d had with one of the founding members of the organization. To say that they weren’t pleased was an understatement. Multiple articles now floated around the internet about their doings. One particular story had him seeing red. It was too similar to that of his missing song bird to be a coincidence. What had him the most worried was the site that had been set up with evidence of his dealings. Not just his dealings in the cells but the auctions and The Island. Someone had information that they shouldn’t and he was beginning to feel as if eyes were watching his every move. 

“Where have you been hiding my lovely little song bird?” He murmured as he moved to his desk.
