Chapter Fifty eight

Mary woke to fix breakfast as usual. It was weekend and her last day before her off days. She entered the kitchen and started by clearing the dishes. Clara came to the kitchen and hugged Mary. Mary patted her head and kissed her. "How are you feeling now baby?" Mary asked holding her shoulder. Clara raised her head and she had dark circles under her eyes. "I am leaving Mary. I can't face Donald" Clara broke down in tears.

" I am a terrible person. Helma is in danger because of my selfish interest" Clara sobbed. Mary sighed softly and told her that Donald brought Helma back last night in a terrible state. Clara's eyes pupped in surprise. She was relieved and more relaxed. "I still need to go Mary. Donald would not want to see me and I can't bring myself to face Helma" Clara insisted. Mary tried to convince her but Clara had made up her mind.

Immediately Clara had toasts and scrambled eggs, she freshened up and left the house with her bags. Mary followed her to the garage and tried to
