Chapter Forty two

"What?" Helma exclaimed hanging in the balance between shock and excitement. She hasn't met her parents for a year now. Donald smiled faintly cleaning his hands with a paper towel. "Are you serious Donald?" She asked trying to clear her doubt. Donald nodded taking the pizza box and used paper towel to the tras can. Helma beamed happily.

The ride back home was amazing. Helma sang along happily to the song on the radio. Donald occasionally turned to Helma and noticed her over excited mood. "It's been ages you saw your parents?" He asked casually. Helma's mood dropped at his question. "I haven't seen them for a year. You know, I was saving up for a house with my ex" she paused and inhaled. "And I had no constant income. I worked as a waitress and a babysitter, I could barely fix out time to go see them" she explained weakly.

Donald inhaled and wondered why a man would want to tax his woman before they could get a house. " Your boyfriend was fully employed?" He asked with his voice fille
