AGNARR. “And what is this?” I ask seeing the large heap of sacks that were piled in the courtyard of the Alpha King’s palace along with a lot of rope that makes me narrow my eyes. “Food, for you to take back, it is not much for now, but it should suffice until your men can come for more.” “And I am certain you expect me to carry these…” I say. Now I am being treated like cattle or a donkey, that I am going to lug all this weight… “Yes, of course, what other use is there ofbeing a ferocious huge Dragon?” Kian counters arrogantly. “Not to be loaded like this.” I frown. “It’s for your people,” Morgana says with a poisonous smile. This was probably her idea. Women… Not giving them a warning, I shift, making them both jump back, and I internally snicker as I turn my eyes upon them blowing a wisp of smoke. “Shall we load your backs?” Kian asks glancing over at Dagnoth. ‘Go for it… I did want to have a lot of energy for when I returned to Xendaya, but maybe this way she’ll be able
AGNARR. Only this time, it feels so much stronger. My heart is hammering as I stare at her stomach, consumed by emotions that I cannot comprehend. My hands are trembling, my breath shaky. A soft moan leaves her as she stirs slightly. It all makes sense; the pain she must have felt were the first flames of my child… Our child. I caress her forehead, a smile tugging at my lips when Nefzaan’s words return with vengeance. ‘No matter what you do, you won’t be able to save yourself, your tribe, or continue your lineage. I am ready to bathe in the blood of any woman who will be unlucky enough to bear your child… Her blood will be like wine, quenching my thirst. I will await the good news that you have filled another woman’s belly with your seed and when you do, I will come for her!’ Fear and helplessness that I have felt countless times returns with full force. No, don’t think about that, but it’s futile. He will kill them and, like every time, I will be the one who is unable to pro
AGNARR. We watch silently as the lava pours around the volcano, creating rivers of red as I turn my head to the sky. Thank you for answering my prayers… I will end the reign of suffering and wrongs… We will rise from the barren lands and claim the skies once more. I will deliver Nefzaan to the steps of your halls for his judgement… I scan the lands as people run out to see the miracle before us, many transforming into their dragon forms as they fly high… The moon has never been clearer... ‘By the Gods…’ Hazran murmurs as the first drop of rain lands on me, making me gaze sharply upwards. Rain. Here… It begins pouring down, but it does nothing to quench the lava that burns brightly, defying the balance and rules of nature itself. ‘It’s a miracle!’ ‘What does this mean?’ ‘The Gods have come!’ The murmur of my people’s excitement, awe, and fear as they gaze at the sight before me only strengthens the emotions inside of me. ‘The Kings of our past have shown they hear us! And t
XENDAYA. I stir, feeling a cool breeze on my face. Is it a fan? I turn on my back, opening my eyes slowly when I find myself staring at the ceiling of my room. The pattern that covers it reminds me of where I am and the last thing that happened. Gasping, I sit up, touching my stomach, remembering the agonising pain I had felt, and recall collapsing… What happened? My heart is thumping rapidly as I scan the room. Hirelda quickly puts the fan down as all three of my maids rush to my side. “My Queen!” Yorna exclaims. I don’t reply, instead looking at the huge golden platters that cover most of the ground. Trays that are laden high with gold and jewels that dazzle brilliantly. What on earth… I have never seen so much gold in one spot in my entire life and I have seen the treasury in Clair De Lune… On the left, there are trays behind the mountains of gold and jewels that contain suede boxes that hold jewellery sets of all sizes. There are necklaces, chains, rings, bangles, bracel
XENDAYA. His words echo loudly in my mind as I stare at his hand that is gently caressing my stomach. My heart thumping loudly as his words finally sink in. I’m pregnant. Goddess… I’m pregnant?! I don’t…. “How do you know?” I ask, trying to think straight, as his lips send delicious tingles through me. “Because I am his father, and when I touched your belly, I felt the flames of my son.” “Or daughter,” I say, trying to get my head around this. How did this happen? ‘We tasted the lollipop!’ Shayara says, suddenly awake. ‘I know that” But didn’t you know that I’m pregnant?’ I ask her. ‘No…’ she sounds confused. ‘But it is extremely early days.’ That made sense… I don’t even hear a heartbeat… “Or daughter, but I know it’s a son.” He says with confidence, his lips grazing my neck as he kisses me teasingly. “We’ll see,” I reply, my stomach fluttering at the thought of a child… our child. I’m pregnant. Goddess… The thought makes my head spin and I exhale shakily, leaning back
XENDAYA. It’s a while later and although I am ready, Yorna said I must wait for a bit before I can head to the grand hall, so instead I decide to stop at the hospital wing. “But My Queen, you have just gotten dressed so beautifully,” Yorna says, bowing her head low. I look down at the outfit I’m wearing. They have dressed me up with extravagant jewellery and hair ornaments too, adding to the gorgeous outfit that Agnarr had selected for me. My make-up is smoky and dark and my nails are painted black. “I don’t care. I am not going to stand around and do nothing.” I reply, adjusting the chain around my waist. “Why is this celebration so important?” “It is for you,” she repeats, the same thing Hirelda and Karza kept saying. “Yes, but why?” “The King will explain.” She bows low and I sigh, feeling a little annoyed. I clearly won’t get answers here. “Ok never mind, let’s just go to the hospital.” I declare, leading the way out of my room. Hazran and Dagnoth are standing guard, rela
AGNARR. There is no finer beauty than a woman whose eyes are filled with emotions that you have invoked… I smirk as I step back and take hold of her wrist. “Come, let's dine.” She nods, her heart skipping a beat and once again I’m caught in how breath-taking she looks. The outfit clings to her curves oh-so-fucking perfectly and those dark red lips are begging to be kissed. “It’s nice to see the women and children of the kingdom here too,” she says as we walk down the middle of the hall and onto the dais. “Well, I did think women and wine might be fitting but since this is your celebration, I thought it was more to your preference,” I reply with a small smirk. “Ah yes, wine and women are your favourite.” She replies with a small smile on her face as she rolls her eyes. We stop before the dais where a second throne identical to mine is now placed beside mine and I lead her to it. Of course, this is an event for the entire kingdom to celebrate together and I heard from several sou
XENDAYA. When Agnarr returned to the hall, he came in with an entirely different mood. I don’t know where he went, but whatever happened has left him troubled and angry, even if he’s trying to hide it. He had been gone for the entirety of the meal and had given clear orders for everyone to start eating in his absence, but although I waited and hoped he’d return, he didn’t until now. I am beginning to pick up on the signs when something is bothering him. The way his eyes become cold, his shoulders tense, and the smirk on his face is almost non-existent and doesn’t reach his eyes. He exchanges a few words with someone, but it’s obvious he is no longer in the mood to enjoy the evening. I sigh inwardly wishing that wasn’t the case; the evening had started off to a good start. I observe him and he glances up at me and suddenly I hope he’s able to calm down and enjoy the remainder of the night and that whatever is on his mind has not ruined this for him. He was definitely in a good mo
