As her eyes followed him as he walked to the bathroom, the pain in her heart felt even more excruciating. Her heart was pounding fast, in her ears it sounded like the fearful beating of a drum, as though she was waiting for an unpleasant thing to happen. And yes she was, she was waiting for his response. Even though she wouldn't accept it, she wanted him to somehow stop her from leaving. 

Minutes went by, and each seconds felt like he might have given in to her suggestions. 

"No, he shouldn't stop me. I will have to leave."

She placed her hands on her chest, and sobbed silently. Tears rolling down her cheeks like a cascade. Love wasn't enough. She didn't trust him like she used to.
