Chapter 39: Best Decision

The morning sun streamed through the window, waking Carmela from a deep sleep.

She blinked her eyes open, disoriented at first, but then the memories of the previous night came rushing back. The conversation with Max.

The kiss. The way he had held her so tenderly. She sat up, her face flushed as she remembered every moment of the night before.

What did it all mean? She had made a mistake again and slept with Max.

Carmela got out of bed and went to the window, looking out at the oceanfront. She tried to clear her head, but her thoughts kept circling back to Max.

As Carmela looked out the window, she was struck by the beauty of the morning sun sparkling off the water of the ocean below.

The waves rolled in gently, and a light breeze blew through the window, carrying the scent of the sea with it. In spite of her worries and fears, Carmela couldn't help but feel a sense of peace wash over her.

The view was so beautiful, and it helped to calm her racing thoughts.
