Jade's body jerked slightly on the bed at this statement. Her mind was in total chaos. She did not trust anyone but both the words of that wretch who had done this to her skin and those of Vladek that were mixed and superimposed.

The worst part is who should she believe? The most logical thing was that she believed Vladek, but Vladek had lied to her first.

For now she would just get as much information out as possible and then think. Vladek wasn't the only one who hadn't slept. She suffered from chronic insomnia so it was practically impossible for her to have been able to sleep alone. Especially after getting used to sleeping with the wolf.
