Preston knew the room contained a barrier, and anyone had to hold a token before they could take anything from that room. Only people staying in the villa had this token. Therefore, Novak’s attempt was futile no matter how hard he tried.

That was why Preston told him about the storeroom. Preston was not worried that anyone could steal anything at all!

On the other hand, Novak's plan failed. He ran out in a panic and bumped into Philip drinking tea in the garden.

Philip was puzzled by his panic. This guy had clearly done something wicked.

“What’s up?” Philip took a sip of tea and asked calmly.

Novak calmed down and realized his position. As a high and mighty practitioner, why should he be afraid? After seeing Philip, Novak decided to do something else. He should try to get into Philip’s good books.
