Chapter 29

The matron always had her way around things, so she was able to get Joy's contact and address, and using her status as a matron, she was able to fix a meeting with Joy.

They were to meet in a restaurant. The matron tried to make the meeting as soon as possible, because she couldn't predict what was in Alpha Murphy's mind and felt he could make his move on her and her daughter at any moment.

The matron was in the restaurant about thirty minutes before Joy finally arrived.

"Sorry, I'm late," Joy said, out of breath and sweaty.

"It's okay, I haven't been here for long." The matron said.

"Okay, great. Have you ordered anything?" Joy asked, and the matron laughed.

"I asked to see you, and not otherwise. So, I should be asking that question. Go ahead and order whatever you want, I will foot the bill." The matron said.

"Why, thank you," Joy said and beckoned on a waiter.

She told him her order and he went to get it.

"Thank you, matron," Joy said and the matron smiled at her.
