The Accused 3

I took a deep breath, my heart racing as I began to explain everything to Liam. "Liam, please listen," I started, my voice trembling slightly. "I was wrongly accused of poisoning you. I swear, I had nothing to do with it. I would never do anything to harm you."

Liam's expression remained cold and distant as he looked at me. "Explain yourself then," he demanded, his tone sharp. "Tell me why the council found poison in your room."

"I don't know how it got there," I replied earnestly. "Someone must have planted it to frame me. I would never try to hurt you, Liam. You have to believe me."

He seemed to consider my words for a moment, but his face remained stern and unmoved. "And why didn't you tell me any of this before?" he asked, his eyes narrowing.

"I was scared," I admitted, feeling tears welling up in my eyes. "I didn't know what to do. I didn't think you would believe me, and I was afraid you would send me away."
