It has been an entire day since Serenia last woke and saw Kai. Once he was summoned away from the room with the promise of being right back, she fell asleep listening to the constant chatter of the kid guard at her door, talking her ear off about the supposed Fated Luna and late prophecies from our ancestors, but he spoke in a thick accent she isn’t familiar with, the same one she detects from Kai but not quite as heavy. “What are you doing? Get off me!” Aurora shrieks as Harbin pins her to the ground, his knee placed on her back.“I don’t like the way you’re speaking to Her Royal Highness. You should speak formally when in the presence of royalty and not threateningly as you have. Sir Olsson stares awkwardly at Serenia for a few seconds before clearing his throat.“I can’t comment on the rumours and dramatics that have gone around since you’ve arrived, it was a very sudden surprise for most of us and we were unsure how to react when our future High Alpha declared he had finally found his mate and brought her home – but she is severely injured.”Seeing it from his point of view does help her understand how others might be perceiving her sudden arrival here, only seeing it as herself getting out of a bad situation and escaping to one with a promise of a better life. Their conversation is interrupted by a curt knock at the door and the guard that Sir Olsson placed at the door enters. “His Royal Highness, Sir Kai, is requesting permission to –” “Let me in, Viktor! You have no right to guard the door!” Kai bellows from outside the door, which the guard promptly closes behind him. Sir Olsson lets out an exhausted sigh and a small chuckle. “Well, I believe that’s my cue to end this conversation, as lovely as it has been, my lady.” Serenia stands up with him to walk him to the door, fiddling with her fingers the entire way, unsure of how to properly see someone off. “This has been an absolute delight and pleasure, Miss Hansen. I look forward to the next time I see you, which is hopefully on the training grounds,” Sir Olsson says and picks up her hand to place a polite kiss on the back of her hand in farewell before seeing himself out. Serenia is excited for her first day of training, she barely slept a wink the entire night despite knowing being exhausted isn’t going to help her, there was nothing she could do to fall asleep. She isn’t sure what to expect for her first training but assumed it would have some physical endurance to it.The 50 laps she has been running is the last thing she expected.Sir Olsson started off her training rather harshly with 50 push-ups, 50 sit-ups and now 50 laps around the yard. “Oh, you weren’t kidding,” Serenia mumbles as Harbin leads her into a large office with walls lined with bookshelves and a large oak table in the middle of the room with tons more books and instruments on top, most of the chairs covered as well. “What is this place?” she asks. “It’s my office,” Harbin answers with a giddy grin, spreading his arms wide like a child showing off his creation. Only the creation blew up and left this mess. “Your office? Aren’t you a royal guard?” “Well, technically yes, all of us warriors from the lower rank families are, all the higher ranks are mostly generals or officials, like Sir Olsson. But my most important role amongst our members is the pack tracker, scout, and healer.
