Kidnapped - Part 1
My heart stopped in my chest, breath hitched in my throat. Every drop of blood ran cold in my veins as I stood there, frozen.
L-little one?
No!
No, no, it couldn't be him.
Oh God, please no!
My legs staggered back as if they had their own minds.
"We meet again, little one. Didn't I tell you I would see you soon? See, I have kept my words," he said. His smooth voice with a deep edge sent a shiver down my spine.
James Monet. How could I forget his voice? The voice that had ordered his men to torture me with a very sympathetic tone years ago. The sick enemy of my father.
Memories of the past flashed across my mind, delivering a tremor to my chest.

At his order, the light of our backyard suddenly flashed on, blinding my vision for a moment.

At a distant noise and then the door's being slammed open, jolted me out of my raw slumber. After one of Monet's men came to collect a sample of my blood for the test and gave me painkillers, all I could do was give in to the exhaustion to my body and mind.
