Kevin stared at me silently. "Believe me or not—that man, Gabriel Stewart, is hiding something. He is not what you or others think of." I could see the intensity in Kevin's eyes as he spoke, his voice filled with conviction. "There's more to him than meets the eye," he added cryptically.

"Kevin, please. He is my father. There must be some misunderstanding ." Kevin's expression softened slightly, but his eyes remained wary. "I hope you're right, but just be careful," he warned, savoring the food on his plate.

"It's delicious," he said with a smile, trying to lighten the heavy atmosphere that had settled between us.

"Very...thanks for the food," I replied, feeling a sense of unease linger in the air despite Kevin's attempt to change the subject.

"Are you craving something sweet for dessert?" Kevin asked, trying to shift the focus away from the tension. "I heard pregnant ladies have different cravings."
