I closed the door behind me when I arrived home, a small smile lingering on my face from last night. When I walked into the living room Kerrick was there so I ran to him.

"Kerrick! Last night was amazing, I'm sorry you didn't come and-"

"Why didn't you come home?" His expression was firm and his lips were pulled into a frown.

"What?" I questioned, confused. "When everything was over it was too late for me to travel by myself so I stayed with my father."

"If that's the case you should've called me, I would've come for you. Do you know how many times I called you and you didn't even answer?"

"My phone died," I said walking over to the couch and putting my handbag down. "I didn't even remember to charge it."

I turned towards the stairs but before I could take a step Kerrick grabbed my arm and pulled me back.

"I'm not done talking to you." I stared at him, the level of anger in his voice unnecessary for the situation.
