Chapter 33: EYES OF THE PAST

I tried to scream and kick the hand as I fell in the darkness. The hands that were holding my feet and covering my mouth were ice cold.

I tried to open my eyes, but all I could see was darkness, and the silence was eerie. My hair was all around my face as I felt like the hands that were dragging me would never stop. The skin on my hands and feet felt like they were burning as I was dragged on what felt like asphalt.

I suddenly stopped, and the hands on my face and legs disappeared. I was trembling with fear and confusion as I tried my best to shift to a crawling position. My entire body ached as I got up to a sitting position, and I tried to catch my breath while tears threatened to fall from my eyes.

I looked around, and it was still pitch black. I tried to speak, but my voice trembled, and my throat felt like it was burning. I realized it was because of the sulfuric smell that was getting stronger. I coughed as the smell got stronger and stronger.
