Chapter 23 - Hospital

Gabriel POV

I open my eyes and blink a few times trying to figure out where I am. I look around and I see River asleep next to me. It is the first time I actually fell asleep next to a woman. With my fingers, I move a strand of her hair behind her ear that fell on her face.

I smile looking at her. Her cheeks are rosy and she is sleeping with parted lips. All of a sudden her body starts shaking and I open my eyes wide. Shit. What the hell is happening. I get out of bed and I start calling for River but she’s not responding and only having seizures.

I grab my phone from my pocket and dial 911. I call the ambulance and I run to open the door. They told me what to do to stabilise River. When they arrived they examined her but she wasn’t responsive and my mind was going foggy. She has a high tempe
