“Lucas Garcia, what are you insinuating?” Her eyes shifted. She was definitely on the edge. Lucas noticed just as he realized his blunder. He breathed out heavily, running his hand down his face.

“All I am saying is it must have been an accident because she was drunk according to the autopsy. She was sad but not miserable as to kill herself.” Edith exhaled discreetly, relieved terribly. For a split second, she had imagined the worst. Like perhaps a loophole that might have exposed a secret she and a few vowed to carry to their graves.

“That doesn't mean you should waste your money on that brat.” She argued more calmly. Lucas sighed. He was too tired of bickering with her. Plus, he had already confirmed Isabella's suspicions to be somewhat true. Edith seemed to have a deep-rooted hatred for Lorena. Nothing is as dangerous as a foe posing as a confidant. And that's precisely what he planned to be to Edith. At least until he can uncover the mystery behind Lorena's death. Heaven's help
