It was mid day, Mara was making an account of the number of baskets of food to be delivered to the orphanage when an epsilon delivered the message. Everything stilled, air and every living thing in it, the leaves and sounds. Then everything was back to normal as the executioner went down with a thud, the axe falling out of his hand onto the hard wood floor. In the early hours of the morning, Alpha Venkat had been snatched into beta Eun-Jae's room. His friends hadn't seen him for a whole day before they decided to kidnap him from his own room. "Has she asked you anything?" the beta was the first to speak after they had fed Venkat. Omega Ro was miserable but Alpha Venkat was more miserable. His birthday was coming up and like usual, another grand ball would be thrown, it was the talk of the pack. See, the alpha's birthday served as a means for finding your mate and eating unlimited food. Also, because it was a grand ball, other packs were invited. The night was bubbly. The large hall room was warm and the golden brown high walls were intricately embroidered with flowery shaped patterns. Glossed ceilings looked over marbled hard wood, making the clinking of high quality shoes more prominent. One could look to the side and see some painted artworks covering parts of the panel molded designed walls as scalloped edging sat close to the palladian windows enclosed with coffee brown thick drapery.There was two large circular escaliers that led to the upper level as the handrails of each escalier were adorned with decorative inserts. To one side of the left escalier sat the live band and to the side of the right escalier served rare dishes. As men in tuxedos and women in gowns trooped in, the first thing they noticed were the tiny golden chandeliers glittering graciously in the soft light.
