Just like that, his voice was back to normal and Heidi wondered if she might have just imagined it. She looked up at him only to be met with nothing extraordinary, just his annoying face.

Yeah, she imagined it.

"I think your first shift is near."

"How do you know?" He asked lightly as he grabbed some sliced bread, butter, ground cayenne pepper, and a packet of cooked bacon from the freezer.

"Your scent is stronger." She replied watching him grab a round ceramic plate before tearing the packet and hauling the bacon to the plate. He then placed it in the microwave setting it for three minutes before turning to her.

"That's all?"

"And you stink more," she paused before adding another insult. "...ceiling."

"Your love stinks me up," he also gave a dramatic pause before continuing. "...basement."

Heidi narrowed her eyes at him. "Stupid," she muttered.
