Chapter 12: Come home, Madison!

I ran around the living room like a headless cockroach, not knowing where to hide. It was impossible for me to hide from another wolf. My stench was too strong for him not to pick up. I had to find a room that was strong enough to keep me safe until Madison arrived.

"Madison," the alpha, began to knock on the door.

His knock was so powerful that I heard the roof of the house shake.

"Madison, if you don't answer me, I'm going to have to break down the door, assuming you've been hurt by that scoundrel you regretfully let in."

Immediately, I ran upstairs. I fall on the final step, hitting my face. I quickly picked myself up and ran to the spare room Madison had given me. I closed the door as I did and hid in the closet full of clothes. As I did, I listened attentively downstairs. I heard the door open with a loud sound, and my heart raced heavily in my chest. I'm dead; it's all I could think of.
