Chapter 31: An Early Run

Salem

I haven't left the room since the fight with Madison. I stayed the entire evening until the next day.

The morning I got up early, feeling the need for a run. My wolf was dying too.

Madison was still asleep in her room when I sneaked out and shifted into my white wolf. I covered my markings that screamed I was a member of the River Pack, a high rank, and then I ran into the forest.

The Grey Pack was no more, and I had planned to run until my wolf had had enough.

The surroundings weren't as brightly lit as yet. I had also awoken before the morning sun. I could find my way running through the forest without falling or hitting anything. It was a wolf thing, or was it dwelling in the depths of the forest for 18 years apart?

It felt good to race through the forest alone. I felt a sense of peace; it relaxed me.

The morning sunlight had finally arrived. I was panting and tired. I went to a small river and licked some water, quenching my thirst and preparing to head back to Madison
