Chapter 13: Confusion

"K-Kilian?" I was surprised. I wasn't expecting him to come, especially during this wee hour of dawn.

"Why do you seem so shocked? Did you expect that I would never notice your nightlife? You even smell like those douchebags called humans. Did you have fun?" Killian asks before standing up and closing the distance between us.

"It's not what you think. My friend and I had a few drinks. Nothing else," I explained to him, trying to calm him down. His eyes started to darken as a sign of his wolf taking over his body.

I don't know why he was angry. I should be. Where is his heart leaving his mate behind, not even telling him where he did go? Is that how mates are supposed to be?

"You are supposed to stay here and wait for me. Why don't you follow that rule?" Killian said, growling.

Killian tightened his arms around the waist and was about to do something, but I placed my hands on his chest to stop him.
