CHAPTER TEN

The sun shined as Zafira woke up with a smile. There was a time when she prefered to sleep other than to be awake, but today was different. Her life had been different since she came back home from the condolence visit in Karak.

When she was a little girl, Zafira always wondered if her parents could hear all her conversations whenever she spoke to Richard, and because she did not know the answer, she was always mindful of whatever she said to him, vowing to take most of her darkest secrets to the grave. After the journey, her mother started to act differently. Zafira made sure she remembered every detail of the conversation she had with her mother the moment she came back from Karak. Everything felt like a dream to her and if it was a dream, Zafira wanted it to be a memorable dream.

Her mother was about to exit from the palace entrance with her entourage when they all met at the palace door.
