Chapter 69I walked to the elevator to the 7th floor and headed towards the suite at the end of the hall. I didn’t have to knock when I arrived because the door opened on its own. I stood there for a moment and then stepped inside, closing the door behind me softly. Max was at the bar pouring two drinks when I took a few steps further into the room, clearing my throat to announce my arrival. Not that he needed me to, he knew I was going to be early. I always was. He turned to face me, and he stopped dead in his tracks. I watched as his eyes roamed my entire figure, stopping only when he met my onyx eyes with his. He kept his emotions so buttoned up that I had no idea what he was thinking, but he was almost looking at me like I was a piece of meat. “See something you like?” I growled, hoping that he could hear the sarcasm in my voice. He shook his head slightly as if he were snapping out of whatever daze he was just in, and headed my way. “I always see something I like with you, doll.”
