“Is… everything okay?” her eyebrows knitted together as she peaked at the Alpha and Luna, they seemed bothered by something, Will more so than anyone else.
“I promised I’d tell you why we are here so here goes.” Will pinned her under his fierce gaze. “The hunter attack of a few days ago wasn’t a random attack, I was the target and we came here to figure out why it is they wanted me specifically. Years ago a prophecy was interpreted that a hunter and a werewolf were to have a child which will result in the order of the world being reset. Will shivered, suddenly becoming aware of the icy floor beneath him. Cracking his eyes open, Will noticed the bars beside him, the cell was empty apart from an empty bowl that looked more fit to be a dog bowl than anything else, beyond the bars was another set of steel barricades that didn’t appear to be housing anyone. “Hello? Is anyone there?” He called, feeling more like a college girl in a horror movie than a prisoner. “Save your energy, they’re not coming for you pretty boy.” The girl deadpanned, sarcasm dripping from her voice like venom. “Who are you?” Will inquired, easily ignoring her tone. “A prisoner, duh.” She wasn’t the friendliest person he’s met, but he was glad he wasn’t alone. “Way to state the obvious. His captors had heard of the brute strength the boy possessed, but huddled in the corner of his cell with his mouth hanging open Will hardly looked like a threat.Three men watched in awe as the werewolf slept peacefully, even after the loud creaking of the door sounded, he was still out for the count, perhaps the dose of sedatives they gave him was too strong for him.Deciding that he wasn’t waking up, the biggest guy of the lot scoffed and unlocked his cell, while he was asleep they could move him. Gripping his arms, a pair lugged his heavy body from the cell and shut it behind them, but before they could reach the door they were thrown to the ground, and before either could recover Will had the third guy’s throat in his hands.All mercy left

On the third day Will finally relented and allowed them to wander into a human village, from the looks of it it was a tiny farming village that didn’t see much tourism, but the people seemed friendly enough despite the crazy looks they gave them. “Hi, do you know where we can find a phone booth? We were out camping and we go robbed of all our belongings we’re just trying to get hold of our family.” Kiah approached an older lady who looked concerned by their appearance as they walked through town. Will’s half-torn sweatpants were especially out of place in the icy weather and the old lady’s eyes widened. “Oh my honey, come o inside, you both must be freezing.” She ushered them into the shop and quickly reached for a shawl to place around their shoulders.

“Will!” The car barely came to a stop and Star was already on her feet flying into her son’s arms. Standing outside Lindy’s store Will chuckled in relief when he felt his mother’s arms around him. “Hi, Mom.” He squeezed back with just as much ferocity and felt his Dad’s arms go around them both. “There’s a girl with me, her name is Kiah, we told people she was my girlfriend so please go with it,” Will whispered to them and simultaneously they nodded. “Kiah, I’m so glad you’re okay.” Star turned to face the unknown girl and hugged her like she has known her for years. “Thank you,” Kiah answered shyly, hugging the woman back to keep up pretenses, pushing aside the discomfort she felt. “Mom, Dad, this is Lindy, the kind lady who helped us.” Star and Max thanked her and offered to pay her for her generosity, but the old woman just scoffed. “Don’t be ridiculous. It was a pleasure meeting these two young people.” Lindy waved them off and bid farewell, not before Star insisted on buying

William awoke to the sound of his mother’s scream from down the hallway, his father was away attending the Alpha council and though he was supposed to join him, given the recent threats to his life they decided it was safest for Will to stay home. Will kicked back his duvet and shot in the direction of his mother’s room, throwing the door open to find her crouching with her hand clutching her chest, the sight paralyzed him for a second. “Mom! What happened?” He lurched forward, coming down onto his knees beside her just as Kiah appeared in the doorway. “Your dad- something-” She screamed, balling up further into herself from the pain. “Dad?” Will shook his head, for a second his thoughts were muddled. “Will we need to call the doctor!” Kiah placed a hand on his shoulder and another on his mother who was writhing in pain. “Of course.” He tuned them out as he tried to mind link Doctor Triste, “Doctor Triste!” The man answered immediately and Will rushed to explain the situati

“Are you sure this is what you want son?” Landon eyed him seriously, he knew Will was a mature and intelligent young man who would someday make a fine Alpha, he only regretted that he would be thrown into the deep end by recent events. “I am sure, Uncle Landon, this is what I was born to do.” Without a hint of hesitation in his voice, WIll claimed his rightful position. “In that case, by the power vested in me by the Alpha Council and the Lockwood pack, I Beta Landon Pierce hereby declare you, William Lockwood as Alpha of the Lockwood pack.” Will nodded curtly and turned back to face Alpha Greene. “Has the Alpha Council been notified of the circumstances?” Alpha Greene’s lips pursed distastefully. “Yes, but unfortunately there is more bad news on that front. The full moon was high in the sky when Will’s head lifted from his father’s laptop to glare at the office phone blaring before him. “William Lockwood.” He answered, the number was unfamiliar and no doubt an emergency. “Like father, like son.” Star chuckled on the other end of the line. “Mom? What are you doing awake so late and why did you call instead of mind link, is everything okay?” Will sat forward in the chair, concern bubbling within him. “I didn’t mind link because there’s someone who wanted to talk to you.” He could hear the smile in her voice. “Hey, son.” Will’s eyes widened before he felt his shoulders sag. “Dad. It’s so good to hear your voice.” Max chuckled. “It’s good to be back. How are things at the pack, Will?” Will rolled his eyes but smiled at the question, his father was the type of Alpha every werewolf wished for. “The pack is good, I spent some of the day beefing up the security around the border.
