16. Bee Allergy

The room grew silent after my confession, neither of us having anything else to say. Before the silence could be broken, a bang from the back of the bar grabbed our attention. Hunter and I shared a look, unsure of what to expect.

I walked towards the bat lying on the ground, picking it up and getting it ready for whoever was there. Hunter seemed to have the same thought as me as he went around the back of the bar and grabbed a knife.

I nodded in the direction of the source of the noise. Indicating for him to follow me. Another noise rings out, making it clear that there's someone there. I run my index finger and thumb across my lips, signalling to Hunter to remain silent. I station myself outside of the room from where the noise is originating. Reaching my arm out silently as I search the wall to turn on the light switch. After a brief search, my hand comes in contact with the switch, flicking the lights on quickly.

I peek my head into the room, the bat at the ready.

I hear movement
