Today was turning out to be just any ordinary day. But I couldn't deny the feeling in my chest that something was going to happen. I couldn't put my finger on what, which only made my unease all the more.

Perhaps it was Everett's meeting with this new investor? I did a background check on him before allowing Everett to agree to the meeting. Even though the results came up with nothing, I couldn't deny that something seemed off. This new investor's profile seemed clean, too clean even. Anytime we ran into people like that at the FBI, it was only ever because of one thing. It meant the person wasn't who they were claiming to be.

I had told Everett of my suspicions. However, he decided to accept the meeting. He felt that if the person weren't who they claimed to be, they would make their reasons known during the meeting.
