When I stepped out of the room, as promised Bessie was waiting for me. She gave me a warm smile and took my hand in hers. We didn’t have to say anything. I knew she was sorry that I had to make such an important decision, and she knew I was exhausted just thinking about it. We walked slowly back to my room, the sound of our footsteps echoing on the stone floor. As we approached my door, she turned to me. “If there is anything I can do, anything I can say or talk through with you, I am always here.”“That means a lot to me, I would like to talk about.
