Luna's POV:
The next two days are quiet and we spend our time lounging around the house and by the poolside. The day before Tatum has to leave he gets called to the office to go over some documents and plans for his upcoming business trip.
"So much for having three days of." Tatum says with a sigh as he grabs his car keys.
"Do you want me to go with you?" I ask as I lean in the doorway of the garage.
"No. I shouldn't be too long." Tatum replies before embracing me.
"Just stay here and relax." Tatum says and then places a deep kiss on my lips.
I wrap my arms around his neck and I feel his grip on me tighten. Our lips part and a sign escapes Tatum's lips.

Luna's POV:The next week seemed to fly by as plans for the new firm began to take shape and finalize. My magic was improving significantly and Angel had taught me many new things I didn't know I was even capable of doing. The power I was tapping into was invigorating and I had never felt more energized but despite every good feeling I was having I missed Tatum. We hadn't spoken since that day he left the office and no matter how badly I've wanted to message or call him I've resisted. Luna's POV:I am almost back to the familiar clearing when I hear Malcolm howling in the distance signaling the end of their run. All the others howl in unison to confirm they are done and on the way back to the house as well. Tatum's POV:I've been gone for several weeks at a time only getting to come home for a few days here and there. Once I had landed back in the states I remembered what this weekend was and I kicked myself for forgetting. Luna had helped me schedule the business trip so I had constantly asked myself if she wanted me around for her birthday. Kali had sent me multiple messages throughout the week taunting me and updating me on Luna and work but it was my mother who had dealt the final blow. Though I was raised in clan life there were still things I was learning about the union and having a mate with powers such as Luna's. Though no one else had noticed Luna's distraught state due to my continued absence my mother had noticed and gave me a warning. Though I had assured her I would be home within a week I had this dark feeling in the pit of my stomach.

Tatum's POV:"Well I guess we should get some rest huh?" Luna says as she reaches for my hand.I grab her hand and lead her into our bedroom and I try to calm my mind. We both get into bed as I turn off the bedside light. Luna and I lay there in silence with her as close as she can get to me. Our legs are entangled and she has her head rested on my arm as I stroke her long beautiful hair. One of her arms is wrapped tightly around me as if she's afraid I'm going to disappear. Her other hand rests gently under my head and I can feel her thumb rubbing my temple lightly. At that moment I realized what she was doing.
