“Give her time, Aiden.” My mum whispers to me as she rests her hand on my shoulder.

“What’s wrong with her? She should be happy. She should be celebrating. Linc is dead.”

My mother looked sad, I know she had loved Linc like he was a brother. But he had destroyed our family.

“You said he marked her. Aiden, whether you want to hear it or not, she lost her mate. She may have hated him, but the bond will force her to grieve.”

“They never confirmed the bond!”

“It doesn’t matter. She was still connected to him.”

“We should move her.” Leighton suggests. “There is no point staying here.” He helps Katie to her feet.
