Chapter 37:
Sanaya’s P.O.V
“Oh, shit!”
“What?” I turned to Amber to find her staring at the end of the hospital corridor, so I followed her gaze and met large, angry, emerald green eyes.
Her dark hair was in a high ponytail and she wore a pure white shirt with wide bell-bottom pants with the jacket slung casually over both shoulders. She wore large silver hoops in her ears and her makeup looked all natural. She looked like the symbol of purity but now I knew to look beyond the surface, right to the blackness of her heart that no amount of white could conceal.
“What is she doing here?” Acelin asked Amber. “Who told her about Lance?”
“Bitch has her eyes tainted on Lance twenty four-seven.” Amber sneered. “Probably has eyes inside ReefWood or she might even be the reason why Lance is in the hospital.”
But as Asmara neared the c
Chapter 38:Sanaya’s P.O.VI went to turn around but Acelin was suddenly behind me, blocking my exit.“Stop.” He told me, grabbing on to my shoulders and refusing to let go. “Look.”“You think this is some kind of a sick joke!” I spat at him but my voice broke.“Look!” Acelin growled and spun me around to face the glass, holding me in place with his inhuman strength. “Look!”My hands were balled into fists and my entire body was trembling from rage and betrayal. I refused to look at the man who could hurt me like this. Again! I was once again betrayed by the man I loved!A crash sounded from inside the room and I looked inside despite myself…to find the nurse on the floor, looking disheveled and flustered while Lancelin clutched his chest, panting like he’d run a marathon.“Leave!” His voice was hoarse an
Chapter 39:Sanaya’s P.O.VI unlocked the door to Lance’s apartment and held it open so we could both enter at the same time. After two days in the hospital where the Lance’s specialist, also a Chrone in one of the Magean tribes, had fed him several dangerous looking liquids to boost up his healing and energy without having to feed, he was discharged to go home and rest well…and do an actual feeding for the sake of his health.Lance looked fine on the outside but he was weaker than normal and his healing was slow. The bullet wound was an angry red spot on his chest that refused to subside and X-rays showed the presence of scar tissues inside his chest as well. Those potions and antidotes could only do so much.“Why don’t you take a shower first and I’ll get dinner ready?” I told him a bit nervously.“Sanaya,” Lance cupped my cheeks. “You don’t
Chapter 40:Lancelin’s P.O.VI had been admired and praised countless time in my five hundred and seventy two years of existence. Several women had named me their idol and worshiped me. Artists have called me their muse and painted and sculpted my images on several streets, several galleries across the world. But nothing brought me the amount of satisfaction as I felt while Sanaya’s eyes travelled up and down my body. She eyed the tattoo of the phoenix I had in my left forearm. Her cheeks turned pink as she watched the water droplets dripping down to my skin and down my abdomen. However, I didn’t like it when her eyes glued on the bullet scar on my chest. The mages at the hospital had forced me to drink several of their elixirs but they could only do so much. Once I’d fed, the healing process will begin naturally. But now that I was with Sanaya, feeding sounded like a derogatory term. Making love&h
Chapter 41:Sanaya’s P.O.VI woke up from my slumber when a ray of sun fell on my eyes.I opened my eyes to find the entire room illuminated with the sun’s rays as Lancelin seemed to have opened the curtains to the windows at the head of his bed. I could hear Lance’s soft breathing from behind me and the heaviness of his arm on my waist was a welcome weight telling me that he was alright.I took a second to look around the room as I snuggled deeper into the covers. The theme might be a dark one but it didn’t appear gloomy. There was a kind of comfort in the darkness. And in the morning light, I could see a pop of colour here and there that I hadn’t noticed before. Like the red roses on a jar on top of a side table or the small painting hanging from the wall of him and Acelin. This was home with not just a roof over his head or a bed to sleep in, but a heart and warmth.“Good morn
Chapter 42:Lancelin’s P.O.V“You called, father?” I entered his chambers after knocking on the huge iron doors.I knew that these doors were not just bulletproof but also spelled by mages against any supernatural attack. My father was paranoid and it wasn’t just because he was the King. He has his fair shares of skeletons in the closet. And that is why Castel Estella is a fortress, surrounded on all sides by extremely capable guards as well as mage barriers.“Ah! There you are!” He answered from his bed, sitting only in a red, velvet night robe, surrounded by several of our scantily clothed human servants. My brother and I were both mirror images of our fathers. And anyone who saw Nathaniel Eustein would notice that immediately. Sometimes people mistook us for one another. He and I had the same dark hair, the same fair complexion, height, built and face cutting. The only differe
Chapter 43:Sanaya’s P.O.V“Have you packed everything?” My mother handed me a steaming mug of coffee as she took a seat at the edge of my bed.“Yes…I think so.” I sighed but gladly accepted the coffee and took a gulp of it, burning the roof of my tongue. I couldn’t help it; I was stressed!“So…I might be able to help but is this just a ‘little outing with friends’ like you told me or is it something else.” My mother raised an eyebrow at me and I knew very well that she already knew this was no outing with friends.“It’s Lancelin’s coronation.” I confessed.“Ah!” Mother exclaimed. “So that’s what all this preparation is about! Oh dear! You’re going to a coronation! Show me what you’ve packed. You’ll need the best dresses you can get your hands on.”“I&
Chapter 44:Sanaya’s P.O.VThe royal courtyard was humongous and probably the most bewildering and well kept garden I’d ever seen in my life. There was not a single flower absent from this garden and I was very sure some of the flowers I saw were rumored to be extinct. The air lingered with a fragrance so sweet that I wanted to bottle it up and preserve its sweetness forever. This palace was completely removed from time and maybe it truly was because as far as I had been told, each dimension was created on a different time frame. Sanctium was supposed to be where time stood still. However, as much as I wanted to avoid her, my eyes kept shifting to the magnificent woman walking beside me. Valleria Eustein.Today she wore a silk gown in a blue so gorgeous; I couldn’t find an appropriate name for it. It was the colour of the sky on a cloudless morning. In fact it looked like she had cut out a piece o
Chapter 45:Sanaya’s P.O.VLance pushed me back against the closed door to his room and an instant later, his lips were on mine.It had hardly been three days since I last saw him but it felt like an eternity. I was craving for his touch, my entire body aching in need. So when Lance finally pushed my jacket off my shoulders and pulled me into his arms, I found my oasis.I unbuttoned his jacket and pushed it off his shoulder and together with his help, unbuttoned the first few buttons of his shirt before we both got impatient and shifted our attention to other important parts.Lance lifted me up with a grip on my waist and I hoisted my legs up, wrapping them around his waist as he once again pushed me up against the door. Lance pushed up my dress to my waist before unbuckling his belt.Just when I thought I’d finally find my release, he pulled back his lips, looking behind us at the king sized bed
