My throat became dry as I tried to call out Nathan’s name. Still staring at the laptop my hand reached for him and started to shake him. “Mmh...” He groaned in his sleep, I shook him harder but all he did was turn around. “I haven’t slept in days, Monroe.” He mumbled.

“Nathan wake up, please.” Maybe it was the urgency in my voice that startled him but he woke up and switched on the lamp letting light into the room. Rubbing his eyes but at the same time trying not to put stress on his chest he took the laptop from me causing my eyes to divert from the screen for the first time since I saw the mail.

He cursed under his breath as he read the mail. “This proves that the scum is behind my money.” Looking at me he realized how frightened I was. “I won’t let him touch you, Anastasia. I swear I will die before he reaches you.” But he didn’t understand my fear
