Chapter 26 - Jo Thompson

Jo POV

“No, Mom, really, I don’t want to go out,” I say, as I rest my feet on the coffee table. That earns me a stern look from my mom. I raise an eyebrow taking a deep breath. I ignore her stare and focus my eyes on the recorded game of Hockey. I know my mom hasn’t moved as she stands next to me with her hands on her hips.

“Fine,” I finally say giving in to the pressure of her stare. I stand up walking past her as my dad walks into the living room. “What happened?” He asks and I shrug walking past him and up the stairs. I can hear them talking but I avoid listening to their conversation because I know I will be the center of it. My sister is still in rehab but I am the one they worry about. I shake my head as I walk into my bedroom.
