“I cannot be a queen of a bunch of monsters.” I laughed out loud, waiting for Simon to cast me some sort of smirk showing that he was just messing with me. When his face remained sharp as stone though, fear began to raise its angry tendrils through my chest. “I barely got away from them before, and you think I’m going to be able to control all of them?” My soft soprano rose to a high pitch at the end, proving my discomfort with the situation. Flashes of being pulled away in the cave by Moira pushed themselves to the forefront of my mind, all of them scrambling to get at me, long claws extended towards us. I shivered involuntarily, unable to get the disturbing images to stop their pillage through my brain. “I mean, they came after Moira and I. They would have absolutely killed me if they got ahold of me.”
