[ IN WHICH SHE IS SLIGHTLY SICK ]

It has been nearly two weeks since the incident.

Incident.

That is a funny way to describe a near-death experience. It is also an understatement, because it had been an actual death experience for the others. So many lives lost. What should I call it then? The people of Alkhemi were hit with some kind of sickness that was killing them, just that the sickness was a little different from the usual diseases that most are used to. The sickness was Death, himself. But it doesn’t matter what I call it. Because now, it is over.

The fact that I am alive proves that it is all over.

I let out a loud sigh. The air at the roof of the mansion whips through my brown curls. It is calm and peaceful, yet I am unable to enjoy it to the fullest because of the man standing behind me.
