Chapter 24
POV: Shahara Vikesh
She was nervously biting her lips and pacing back in forth to the receiving room where they were asked to stay while waiting for Tamara, who was asked to the study room after the announcement of her – being part of the top ten for the competition for the next Regina.
She was totally nervous and astounded.
Tamara was really in the top ten!
Top ten!
Gosh! She was hyperventilating. She has already passed the screening, and the real competition will begin. She was so happy as well as worried about her.
She heaved a deep sigh.
She needed to pass.
Well, she must be.
She was destined to be.
She let out another deep sigh as she moved to the other side of the room – for the nth time.
“Will you stop fidgeting, dear? It was quiet distracting. I wouldn’t want you both to transform into your wolf form, right here, right now.” Her father, Alpha Lorenzo,
Chapter 25 POV: Aeron Darkwood Somewhere in the middle of the dark woods. A loud whimper echoed in the middle of the dark forest, followed by a painful growl – making the birds fly away from their own resting nests and breaking the deafening silence of the night. Dark red blood splattered the ground and painted the wild grass and weeds. The entire place was terrifying and perilous at just one glance. A man with no left arm was slowly breathing and sniveling due to the agony he felt. He already knew that he would face his tragic end today. He knew he wouldn’t have another chance at proving his worth and loyalty. He would face his disastrous demise without any sign and confidence. One of the people staring at him – younger than him – slowly shook his head with too much disappointment. It pained him more – for he served this family for almost two decades of his life. A young lady just raised her brow while looking
Chapter 26POV: Tamara DavisIt’s been two days since she became part of the top six candidates for the competition for the next Queen. It was definitely fulfilling, yet it was more of an unbelievable luck for her. She was feeling pressure, too.Tamara heaved a deep sigh and slightly shook her head. It’s also been two days since she last saw Shahara. She was so worried about her whereabouts, but Uncle Lorenzo and Aunt Rania told her that she just needed to arrange some important matters – but she knew better. She could see their concerned faces and worried aura whenever she saw them at the study room. They were talking about something serious that she didn’t want to bother them.Another was Kage – who became her constant visitor and con trainer – who told her that Doc Dreyson claimed that he saw Shahara crying in the woods and that it was just two days ago. He tried to get near her, but she immediately ran
Chapter 27POV: Prince Raven PierceThe deafening silence of the entire forest was shattered by the swift and smooth movements of one of the most powerful males in the clan of Pierce. He was running in a meteoric manner as he kept his tracks towards the Southern Side – leaving only the print of his paws on the muddy and filthy ground.Birds were flying away from their nests as he passed through the lofty trees where he was running into. His pink tongue was swaying by the wind as he gracefully jumped on the lying log on the ground.Nothing gets in his way – never wanting to be sliced into two if they do it so – for the prince’s eyes glowed with raging madness. The moment he heard the news from his brother, he immediately alarmed the sentinel wolves to help him in patrolling and looking for the two imperative members of the Lunar Pack. His heart beats at a faster pace than normal as he ran as fast as he co
Chapter 28 POV: King Hades Pierce Everything was a total mess! The moment she saw Tamara in her state, she was already hardly breathing. Her face was pale, but something in her arm had caught his eyes. He gritted his teeth and clenched his hands before he started walking back and forth towards the small office – Doc Dreyson’s office, to be exact. King Hades frustratedly licked his lips and placed his hands on his waist as he let out a deep sigh. His heart beat was uneven and his animalistic side was trying to overtake him once again. But he wouldn’t let it happen. Not now that he still didn’t know what was happening to Tamara. The door suddenly opened, and Doc Dreyson entered the room. He heaved a deep dreadful sigh the moment their eyes met. He didn’t like the expression he had on his face – for a hint inside him was creating pure turmoil creeping on every vein in his system. “How was she?” He simply asked as he was re
Chapter 29 POV: Kage Esmeray Tamara went uncontrollably chilling and trembling – that they needed to tie her up in her bed. She gritted her teeth and hunched her back, then forth while lying in her bed. After a few moments, she was burning with fever that her eyes went to the back of her head. Her canines bared and she growled in both frustration and pain – making Kage and Dreyson more nervous and scared of what was happening to her. The good thing was it only lasted for about fifteen minutes, and she was now peacefully sleeping. But the chaotic feeling Tamara arose a while ago inside their mind and the raucous emotions they felt was to the moon. Kage harshly combed his hair with his hands while his other hand rested on his waist. He was walking back and forth in front of her bed – waiting for Dreyson, who went to Shahara’s room, just beside Tamara’s – to check on her, too. His head shot back at the door when he heard it open. Dreyson,
Chapter 30 POV: Luna Lamina She was smiling while sipping her apple juice with mint. They were having their sumptuous dinner while they were waiting for Elder Courdamus from his meeting with the King and the Were Elders’ Council. Lamina was certainly ecstatic about their plans for the competition – for she asked the members of the Were Elders’ Council under their alliance to propose the continuation of the competition for the next Regina. She was surely not gonna waste their moon-given opportunity now. Her smile grew bigger at that thought. All was falling according to plan now and she was loving every bit of it. She placed back her glass on the table before she glanced at her daughter, who shared the same look as her. “Leah…” She called her. But she got everyone’s attention inside the room. Well, she didn’t bother to look at them, anyway. She was more indulgent with Leah right now. “I want you to brace yourself together and br
Chapter 31 POV: Tamara Davis It’s been days since she finally woken up. She couldn’t believe that she had already faced a life and death situation for the nth time. Every time that thought occurred in her mind; she couldn’t help herself but to feel uneasy that it sent shivers down her spine. But she was indeed had the moon’s luck to be blessed with another chance of life. Tamara heaved a deep sounding sigh as she stared at the chilly, windy day. The hushing wind that was gently cooling her cheeks from the window of her room was totally soothing to her. She closed her eyes as she felt the frosty sensation it brought mixing with the serenity of the room. “So, how are you feeling now?” Kage enthusiastically asked the moment he entered her room. Tamara instantly opened her eyes and stared at Kage – who was basically ruining the tranquil momentum. But instead of being annoyed, she couldn’t help herself but smile at him. It w
Chapter 32 POV: Tamara Davis Looking at the vast arena where they were asked to go for the next round of the competition to become the next Regina, she already had this tiny little clue of what would happen next. It was nearly sunset, and she just hoped for the best and prayed to the moon that her instincts were wrong. Because the truth was, she was so anxious about the idea that it kept on bugging her mind. She wasn’t fully healed yet, and if her intuition was right, there was a huge chance that she might end up losing at this battle – hopefully not. Because if that happened, it would surely break her apart. Given the time, effort, and the support that their pack members offered – not to mention the Vikesh Family – just to be in this competition, she would certainly be in disdain. Apart from that, her very own goal to avenge her parents’ death would be in futile. And her, seeking the truth about who the heck had sabotaged her, wouldn’t get re
