66. I Think It's Poison

Frederick received the chest, while frowning, because he didn't understand anything Selene was informing him.

"Among Henry's belongings?" He asked, repeating the words that had sounded the loudest to Selene and interrupted her before letting her answer: "What were you doing going through her belongings?" He asked with obvious annoyance.

"I just wanted to be useful," Selene replied quietly, for she felt that Frederick was misinterpreting her intentions. The grimace on Selene's face made Frederick feel bad about his words. He hadn't said them to make her feel bad, but just thinking about Selene around anything that had to do with Henry only bothered her.

"Sorry, love... I'm frustrated and worried, I'm sorry I made you feel bad," the king apologized, taking Selene by the shoulders and pulling her closer to his body to hug her. I don't want you anywhere near anything to do with Henry," she confessed, and Selen nodded, her arms gripping Frederick's waist tightly.
