Mike did not stop himself from hugging Riley tighter and place a kiss on her forehead. Then he leaned back a little and spoke, “Won’t you invite me in?”

She chuckled out of embarrassment, “Come.” She took his hand and walked inside the fortress.

“I had called you earlier in the morning,” he said as they walked inside.

“I know. And I am sorry I did not pick up your call. I was in a difficult situation,” she reasoned.

“I wonder what has kept you so busy to not even pick my call,” he raised his brows.

“I will let you know that later. How is Jordan?”

“She is good.”

“You mean Adrian or Aaron?” she chuckled at that. It was no wonder that Michael had grown close to Aaron.

“Senior and junior, both,” she replied.
