Chapter 12

He stayed under that big tree for hours. I'm getting so bored of sitting in this branch of the tree while watching over him. He fell asleep because of so much tiredness. The sun has already risen above the mountains spreading out its brilliant rays. I looked at my wrist and, uh oh, where are my twenty-four carats golden watch? That was my gift for me on my twentieth birthday. I gaze at the man below. Robber! I can't forgive you! I was about to jump and strangle him when I noticed a venomous snake crawling and approaching him. It hisses and is ready to bite the sleeping man.

"Hey, don't do that, you silly creature. Biting a sleeping man is unjust."

I used my telekinesis to make the snake float in the air. I playfully tossed it in the air.  I watched it squirms.

"You're flying now. You should thank me for allowing you to feel how's to be a bird." I chuckled playfully.

I looked like a fool talking to myself. I sighed deliberately. This man deserves applause, he just had a bodyguard in an instant. Well, I can't let him die by now. How will I be able to find Catherine and Isabel if I kill him now? The two women. Are they still alive? I wish I could connect to them through the mental links. But it's impossible. I can only connect to those I have been with for a length of time. I subconsciously thrashed the snake into the bushy part of the woods. I curled my knees and placed my chin on top of it. I encircled my arms around my legs and played with the dried leaves by making them float in the space. It's boring and I feel sleepy. I'm getting hungry too. Are there any fruits here? I started sniffing and am not surprised when a delicious smell of fresh fruits filled my nose.

"Hmmm, that smells great!"

I heard my stomach rumbling and I got excited to fill it with that delicious smell. I quickly leaped into another branch and seconds later I vanished and appeared in the middle of a wide space occupied by fruit-bearing trees. This place is well kept. I didn't know that there's a place like this in New Land. It looks like someone is taking care of it. I looked around and saw rows of trees bearing bunches of fruits. I don't know what kind of fruit it is. It's a circle and has a shiny, orange surface that looks so smooth.

"Are these edible?" I asked myself.

It doesn't look familiar to me. But its smell is very enticing. I grabbed the tiny branch that my hand could reach and picked one fruit. I smelled it. Maybe, my strong olfactory sense would perceive if it's edible or poisonous. I have a light feeling and didn't see any danger about this fruit. I think it's edible. I wish me luck, though. I close one of my eyes, extended my arms forward, and looked at it closely like it's under a microscope before taking a bite.

"Hmmm, this is incredibly tasty," I told myself.

I didn't expect this to taste as good as this. Its meat is soft against my tongue, not to mention that it's sweet too. I felt delighted savoring it. I would still eat this fruit whatever it is, even if it's poisonous. Anyway, I won't die easily. I'll just teleport to the hospital if I feel anything wrong with my body. Besides, my stomach is great. I chuckled with this thought. I picked two more fruits and looked around before going back to the sleeping man I've left behind meters away. Seriously? He's still snoring. He's been sleeping for hours. How about I wake him up? That's stupid. He will realize that I am following him.

I stand towering over while keeping my eyes on him. I'm still munching and savoring on the no-name fruit I've picked. A brilliant idea flashed my mind while I was looking at him. How about using my telepathy to read his mind? That sounds awesome and exciting! I have never read the minds of sleeping people before. How about giving it a try this time? I focused and watched him until my sight went dim with only him I can see. I can hear the sounds of people talking and laughing in his mind. Oh, I forgot that he's unconscious and so what I will be able to read now is possibly his dream. I went back to my senses. I'm not interested in his dreams. My effort was useless, what a waste of energy. I jumped over towards the big branch of the tree where I was sitting a while ago. At least, I found out that I can read people's dreams. This is incredible!

I stopped cheering and went on deep thought. I can teleport, move very quickly like a flash of lightning, have undeniable physical strength, mental links, read people's minds, and now read dreams. Is there anything else that I can do aside from these? Were my parents, Balbi and Arlea capable of doing the same? How about Sherika, my sister? Why did they allowed themselves to be killed by the Aquans if they have such supernatural powers? But...I never saw them do anything supernatural. My father Balbi, could hardly move a medium size box of fruits we were selling. My mother Arlea couldn't fetch the basket of washed clothes after laundry, by herself. Sherika couldn't even move her study table every time she cleans her room. Could it be possible that they were just pretending to be weak? I scoffed. Impossible. They wouldn't be dead if they have the same powers that I possess. But, why do I have this kind of supernatural power? Where did I get these? I remembered Marcus and Hunter calling me Lady Amara. Who is she that they have mistaken me to be her? Is there any connection between her, the murder of my family in Ehtrehto Edis, and the Aquans who were chasing after me?
