Chapter Thirty
“We were scared out of our mind.” Meghan sighed as she hooked her arm through mine, leading me to our rooms. We walked through several hallways, all of it lined with white and gold. The red carpet against the white tiles was startlingly harsh.
“I know. I'm sorry. I— a lot happened I just couldn’t come back.” I told her half honestly. I had wanted to come back at first. But the more time I spent with Damien the more I felt comfortable with who I was, especially once we got to Autumn’s. She was open and honest. She didn’t hesitate to tell me anything I asked.
“Why though? Why couldn’t you come back?” She asked, her eyes wavered with hurt.
“I was — scared” I lied. I don’t know why I did. I was sure that Jax had told her the truth of who I was. She pulled me into another hug, but let go quickly.&nbs
