Chapter 30

ROZEN

I stood at the window, gazing out at the moonlit forest. It was a peaceful night, but my mind was troubled. Klay was still struggling to accept the bond between us, and I knew it was going to take time.

"Rozen," Klay's voice brought me back to the present. I turned around to face her. "Is everything okay?"

I took a deep breath and walked over to her, taking her hand in mine. "I need to tell you something," I said, my voice serious. "I know it's been hard for you to accept our bond, but I want you to know that I will do everything in my power to keep you safe."

Klay looked up at me, her eyes filled with emotion. "I know you will, Rozen," she said softly. "But what about the kids at the orphanage? They're the ones who need your protection the most."

I nodded, understanding her concern. Klay had come from the orphanage where I had been volunteering, and I knew she had a special place in her heart for the children there.
