Chapter Eighteen

Past- April 17th, 2033

It happened. 

Jessica, Vittorio and I were sitting in her house organizing ourselves.

In my defence, we weren't expecting anything to happen yet. So this morning, Vittorio and I tried preparing for the worst. Tried is the keyword. I quickly got bored and thought that doing it with Jessica would be helpful. Vittorio rolled his eyes and drove us to Jessica.

There we were finally able to be more productive than in the last four days. 

We already made sure that Jessica's midwife knew that she was okay. She had advised us about packing extra things for her impending day. Our children's due date was last week, and every day that went by, we grew impatient. 

"Christine, have you seen my humidifier?" Jessica quickly rummaged through her bag for the fifteenth time. I rolled my eyes at her. Why did she even have that? She didn't need that machine.&
