Chapter 72: An Unexpected Scene

"What's wrong with you?" I asked with a confused look.

I stared at my mate, Alessia, who looked weak and sad. She didn't look happy so I decided to ask her what was wrong with her.

She took a deep breath and looked away. It was as if she was trying to avoid making eye contact with me.

I sat down on the bed and leaned closer to her. I held her arms and asked her again. "What's wrong with you? You can tell me,"

She turned to me and stared at me hesitantly. She shook her head and looked away. It seemed there was something she wanted to tell me but she didn't know how to present it to me.

What could that thing be? And why was she hesitant to talk about it? I asked myself but I couldn't get an answer to it.

"I'm fine. You don't need to worry about me," she said but I wasn't convinced.

"Are you sure?" I persisted, and she groaned.

"I said I'm fine so I'm fine. Please I'm not in a mood to talk," she snapped at me, and I kept quiet.

I didn't bother her even though I was surprised
