Chapter 25: Another Traitor?

At first there was no answer, and my heart began to race. Damn, if I only had wolf senses, I could probably smell whoever was out there, or hear them or something. But I don’t, and I can’t.

“Who’s there?” I call again.

“Sorry to disrupt you Luna, but I need to speak with you.” A male voice that sounded vaguely familiar called back through the door.

I wish I could place that voice. I know I’ve heard it before, but without seeing the face behind the door I had no idea who I was talking to, and he still hadn’t given me a name.

“Where are my guards?” I question skeptically.

“Mason just walked down the hall, he agreed to give us some privacy to speak.”

Groaning internally, I curse my inability to mind-link with anyone but Aleksandr. This would be so much easier if I could just ask Mason if this were true, and who was standing outside my door.

Then my mind immediately went to my children. Are they still safe? I’d rather give myself over to whoever this is than risk my childre
