SASKIA'S POV

Locating a ceramic bowl, I fill it with water from the faucet. I wait a few seconds to check if it leaks, then dump the cheerful blossoms into it.

"I do act like one. You should be more respectful of my manhood, Luna."

"Whatever." I flick off his complaint as I glide into the dining room. "By the way, where were you taken yesterday?" I inquire about his absence since I saw him last when Mikael crashed in on us like a dark lord on a unicorn looking for trouble. He'd been with the cashier that ratted us out, but I'd seen neither of them afterwards.

"Nowhere specific. I was interrogated and tested in a building for recruits. Had to go through all the routines and expected measures necessary for a werewolf to join a new pack. Currently, I'm on probation."

I frown at this as the word in relation to the world of werewolves is foreign to my ears and understanding. "What do you mean by probation?"

"Yeah, I forgot to elaborate. The rules are somewhat different here
