Isabeau's POV

With a deep breath, I muster the courage to spin a tale that will hopefully quell any doubts or suspicions. "I went for a stroll near the pack's border," I began, my voice steady despite the turmoil within. "Unbeknownst to me, I wandered a little too close to where some rogues were hiding and they attacked me."

Gasps escape my parents' lips as they exchange worried glances. "But fear not," I continue, my gaze shifting to Loic, who stands beside me, his expression composed and supportive. "Loic appeared out of nowhere, like a guardian angel. He fought off the rogues and protected me from harm.

Even though I was safe, I was a little shaken up by the experience and Loic kindly nursed me back to health before escorting me back home.” I silently pray to the moon goddess that my lie is believable.

Relief washes over my parents' faces as they turn their attention to Loic. Gratitude fills their voices as they thank him profusely.
